try read the "地藏菩薩本願經".
You can get one in many places, like vegetarian restaurants, some bookstores. Free.

It "may" help to improve your status. But, no gaurantee.

Thanks and I did try to read some kinds of the Buddish notes I am so regret that even I'm Chinese I really can't catch the meaning as the words are quite hard to read ( they are not too common ).  I'll try !

我们学佛是做好人不是做愚痴的人，明明不对，不制止，而哑忍妥协，是增长你父亲的恶业而已，你们受苦没有换来半点善果的，要么你修行很高，忍辱修完满了，你父亲还会因你而有点善果，如果不是，那么他的话可以完全不听可也。所谓好事、恶事还要考虑后果的，佛法非善非不善，非恶非不恶。
