Several options: -
1. Double check with airline to ensure check in allowed, then departure in short period to land US.
(The risk is on check-in)
2. Double check with US 美國領事館, is same passport number is link to the issued VISA, they'll let you have advise.
If yes, then refer item 1. If no, refer item 3
3. Apply a new passport immediatley. When return existing passport, remind and highlight HongKong Immigration Department that the VISA is STILL in valid and you need to keep it's validity. Any necessary pages will not 剪角, then you hold both passports for landing.
(This have risk, the VISA and necessary pages may be 剪角 by mistake, then the VISA is no longer valid)
